Frequently askedquestions

  • What does end-to-end project delivery actually cover?
Everything from a blank canvas to a live, monitored product. That spans discovery (requirements, user research, technical architecture, written estimate), design (information architecture, wireframes, visual design, interactive prototypes), development (TypeScript front-end and back-end, database modelling, API design, integrations, automated tests, CI/CD), and launch (staged rollout, observability, on-call setup, documented handover). Most engagements continue past launch with iteration sprints, but those are scoped separately so you are not paying for a long-term commitment from day one.
  • Do you work fixed-scope or time-and-materials?
Both. Fixed-scope is the better fit when the deliverable is well-defined — a marketing site, a single feature module, a clear MVP — and we are confident enough in the scope to underwrite it at a fixed price. Time-and-materials is the better fit when the product is exploratory or the scope is expected to change as you learn from users; we bill monthly against a transparent burn-down. We usually start every engagement with a fixed-price discovery phase so both sides know what they are signing up for before commitment.
  • How big is a typical delivery team?
A typical pod is one delivery lead, two to three senior engineers, and a half-time designer when the work is user-facing. Small enough that decisions happen in a single channel without coordination overhead, large enough to absorb a sick day without slipping the milestone. We scale up only when scope justifies it — usually after a discovery phase shows where parallel workstreams are safe — and never staff a project below the senior bar to hit a price point.
  • What stack do you build on?
Default front-end is React with TypeScript, usually on Next.js, TanStack Router, or Remix depending on rendering needs. Default back-end is Node.js with NestJS or a thin Express/Fastify layer, occasionally Python (FastAPI) when the workload is ML-adjacent. Postgres is our default database; MongoDB when document modelling fits better. We host on whatever your team already uses — AWS, GCP, Vercel, Coolify — and we will not push you to migrate clouds unless the current setup is the actual problem.
  • How do you handle handover when the project ends?
Handover starts on day one, not on the last day. Every engagement runs in your repository, with your accounts, on your infrastructure — we never deliver a tarball at the end. The codebase ships with a written architecture overview, runbooks for the operational tasks (deploys, common bugs, monitoring), and an inline tour of the non-obvious parts. We then run a paid two-week handover window where your engineers can ask anything before we step back; most clients use it for one or two sessions and we never hear from us again.
  • What happens after launch — do you offer maintenance?
Yes, but only when it makes sense for both sides. After launch you can stay on a small retainer (a few days a month) for incident response and small improvements, scale up to a continuous iteration engagement, or just close out and own the codebase yourselves. We will not pretend a successful project needs ongoing engagement to stay successful; the handover phase is designed precisely so internal teams can run the product without us.
